Type exercise maker
The typing exercise builder easily allows creating your personal typing experience within just a few steps.
You can add your own separate words or if you like, you can even add sentences to make the typing more challenging.
Randomizing the order of words
You can make the typing less repetitive by randomizing the order of the words in which they are presented to the typing player.
The order of words will then be less predictable and fresh each reset.
Confetti!
Since the typing application will mostly be used by younger children learning to type, a bit of extra appreciation and encouragement should feel very welcome. Enter the Confetti!
The Confetti feature is activated after every word that is entered correctly, and lasts a couple of seconds by default. If you feel that is either too short, or too long, you can easily adjust this duration.
Show the key that was pressed
To help the player out while typing, there is a very friendly feature which is active by default: showing which key was pressed (if not the correct one). If the correct key is pressed, then the character will turn into the correct color.
The player immediately sees something is off once it does not turn correct and you as the educator (if present at the same location) can interpret what kind of visual recognition mistake the player is making.
If you want to increase the difficulty a bit, you can hide the pressed key in the little bottom right square.
show the characters as lowercase
The typing practice is diverse and not only has 'learning to type' as the added value, but also supports learning character recognition. For children (and adults) that do not know the alphabet yet, this can be incredibly useful.
Since most alphabetical characters consist of a lowercase and an uppercase version, it is up to you as the educator to determine which characters your activity shows.
Connect images to words
To make the typing practice even more valuable, you could try out connecting images to words. This way, the player can see the images while typing the characters of the words, helping out with learning what words is related to what image (object in reality).
You also have the option of showing the image only after completion. This way it can be used as a nice surprise to the player.
Special character support
Since many languages contain special characters in their words and those characters are not directly available on any keyboard, it might come in handy to have another way of inputting these characters to practice character recognition as well as typing.
You can compose your own list of characters if you like as well.
